Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Germany

On November 15, 2018, the Federal Government of Germany adopted a national AI strategy and allocated from 2019 up to 2025 a sum of  €3 billion for investment in AI research and development. With this, Germany aims to safeguard its competitiveness and become a leading centre for AI research worldwide, deploy AI responsibly for societal good, and “integrate AI in society in ethical, legal, cultural and institutional terms in the context of a broad societal dialogue and active political measures”.
