Data Feminism And Gender-Transformative Approaches In Higher Education

This webinar aims to catalyse the adoption of data feminism principles within universities, launching new micro-credentials and programmes focused on this approach.  The focus is on  integrating feminist perspectives into academic curricula and educational programmes.  Empowering students with the tools to critically analyse data through a feminist lens will lead to more inclusive and intersectional approaches to data science education.

In the rapidly evolving landscape of data science and technology, the need for critical examination of power dynamics and inequities within data collection, analysis, and use has become increasingly apparent. Data feminism offers a critical approach to addressing these issues, emphasising the significance of intersectional feminism in understanding and challenging biases within data science.

Given the growing importance of data feminism in shaping inclusive and equitable data practices, the GIZ Data Lab (GDL) and Digital Skills to Succeed in Asia (DS2S) project at GIZ have come together to organise this webinar which delves into the practices and potential of data feminism for universities in the region.
