Falling Walls Lab India 2016 at IISER, Pune

“The Falling Walls Lab took place for the first time in India on the 24th of September 2016 at the state-of-the-art Sir C.V. Raman Auditorium in IISER Pune. It was hosted by the German House for Research and Innovation – DWIH New Delhi and organised by the Information Centre of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Pune along with IISER Pune.

11 participants from across the country were selected to present their research projects and business ideas aimed at breaking walls and barriers in scientifically and socially relevant fields. The jury selected Mr. Sudheesh A.P. and Shubham Rathore as the runners-up. Mr. Arun Agarwal was declared the winner, for his presentation on breaking the walls of maternal and neonatal mortality. Mr. Agarwal will now present his monitoring device at the Falling Walls Lab finals in Berlin on the 8th of November, along with the winners of all the regional sessions around the world. He also has the opportunity to take part in the Falling Walls Conference on the 9th of November, which commemorates the 27th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
