Project description:

The 7 German and 8 Indian partners of the CCRBF consortium will strengthen educational and research cooperation between Germany and India focusing on natural water treatment techniques of riverbank filtration (RBF), managed aquifer recharge (MAR) and constructed wetlands (CW). This is to be achieved through the extension of the activities and partners of the “Riverbank Filtration Network (RBFN)” that exists since 2008 and resulted in the establishment of the “Indo-German Competence Centre for Riverbank Filtration” between NIH Roorkee and HTW Dresden in 2011. Specific objectives are the development of a science-based master plan for RBF in India, the development of 4 RBF and 1 CW demonstration sites in India, the revision of existing guidelines for the construction and operation of new RBF and CW sites in India and the organization of capacity-development and research-marketing activities such as an international RBF conference in Dresden end September 2022.
