DWIH New Delhi New Year’s Reception and Dinner

The German Centre for Research and Innovation- DWIH New Delhi played host to the who’s who from academia and industry at the Annual DWIH New Year’s Reception and Dinner, 2019. In attendance were professors, researchers, diplomats, industry experts and professionals from different fields of expertise, in addition to the DWIH team and supporter organisations.

The pleasant January evening witnessed Ms. Heike Mock, director, DWIH New Delhi, welcome the esteemed audience with her opening address. Ms. Mock introduced the DWIH as one of the strategic initiatives of the German Federal Foreign Office to internationalize science and research in different parts of the world. She highlighted the consequential role of the DWIH as a platform for showcasing and promoting German contributions to science, research and innovation amongst Indian academics, scientists and researchers and facilitating joint initiatives and bilateral projects between India and Germany. She also applauded the consortium of the 15 supporters of the DWIH and thanked them for their significant contributions towards the realization of a common vision.

Soon thereafter, Dr. Jasper Wieck, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, expressed the importance and inevitability of Indo- German collaboration in spheres of science, technology, research, and development.

The guests made the most of the wonderful networking opportunities at the reception and the evening culminated into a night to remember and cherish, for everybody involved.
