3rd Indo-German Dialogue (IGD) Public Event – Co-creating our living environment for sustainable futures

This public event will conclude the three day long 3rd Indo-German Dialogue (IGD) on Green Urban Practices: Co-creation of the Living Environment held between 5th to 7th December 2019 in Pune.

The event is funded by the DWIH New Delhi.

For the first time an IGD culminates in a public event aiming to reach out to the wider citizenry of the locale by way of interactive public engagement through the convergence of people and activities. Interested citizens, civil society organisations, grassroots initiatives aiming to transform urban living are cordially invited to participate and visit.

The event will comprise of diverse modes of engagement and interaction such as keynote talks by eminent persons, cultural activities and art related to the theme, a fair with stalls showcasing projects from research and practice, video screenings, discussion round tables, and workshops. The participants of the IGDs intend to generate a culture of collaborative change and transitions towards sustainability in urban contexts covering themes of

– Social innovation in sustainable lifestyles and towards resilient local communities addressing consumption, food, waste, mobility, housing and the built environment, economy (e.g. recycling, upcycling, repair activities as part of creating a circular economy)
– Education and learning for sustainable development
– Social enterprises and business
– Corporate sector and society, government collaboration for sustainable solutions
– Use of public spaces and common goods
– Cultural change
– Art and architecture in Pune
