Max Planck Society

The Max Planck Society is the Germany’s leading research organizations focusing on results-oriented basic research – in the field of natural sciences, life sciences, social sciences, and the humanities. Max Planck researchers in our 86 research institutes strive to extend frontiers and advance into new dimensions of knowledge. Since the establishment of the Max Planck Society in 1948, no fewer than 18 Nobel laureates have emerged from the ranks of its scientists, putting it on a par with the best and most prestigious research institutions worldwide.

India is an important strategic partner for the Max-Planck Society for its research collaborations. Moreover, Indians form the second-largest group of foreign nationals at PhD and post-doctoral positions at Max-Planck institutions.
