This workshop will focus on how innate immune systems in plants and animals defend against pathogens. It will also address how microbes manipulate hosts to cause disease.
Recent research shows that plants and animals share conserved immune mechanisms. Understanding these common pathways can improve strategies for managing diseases in both systems. Immuno-metabolism will be a key theme, highlighting how metabolic pathways influence immunity. The role of beneficial microbes in maintaining plant and animal health will also be discussed.
The workshop will create a platform for researchers to exchange interdisciplinary perspectives. It aims to foster collaboration between early-career and established researchers from India and Germany. Invited participants include experts from leading universities and research institutes working on immunity, microbiota, and translational research.
Participation in this workshop is by invitation only.
The workshop is financially supported by the DWIH New Delhi.
