Incubators Connect 2.0: Innovation and Internationalisation

Incubators Connect 2.0: Innovation and Internationalisation is programme in India, for directors and managers of incubators  from India and Germany to discuss internationalization of incubators. As a part of the programme two workshops will take place, 27 February 2024 in New Delhi and 29 February 2024 in Bengaluru.

The workshops offer an opportunity for incubators from India to connect with 20+ incubators and transfer centres from Germany.

During the workshop discussions and brainstorming on concrete ideas and inputs on incubation and innovation programs between the incubators will be facilitated. The workshops will be followed by networking sessions with the start-up ecosystem in New Delhi and Bengaluru.

Background: Since 2019, the DWIH New Delhi is working on formats to connect both the ecosystems in a systematic manner. It is focusing on connecting incubators at higher education and research institutions and research-based start-ups at an early stage. Furthermore, it is involved in analysing policies, raising awareness of both the ecosystems in the other and advising on internalisation of start-ups and incubators.

The DWIH New Delhi connected incubators from India and Germany digitally in 2021 and has developed pilot formats with them, online and onsite. A major milestone in developing this network was the delegation of incubators and funding agencies from India to Germany in June 2023 which focused on workshops on innovation and internationalization and networking opportunities with incubators, regional networks, funding agencies and private ventures in Germany.

Target group: Directors, managers, and programme managers at incubation centres and transfer offices at universities and research institutions in India.

The incubation centres and transfer offices must be part of a research institution or a public or private university and have funding from government agencies such as

  • Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC)
  • Atal Innovation Mission (AIM)
  • Department of Science and Technology (DST)
  • Start-up India Seed Funding Scheme (SISFS)
  • Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY)
  • Ministry of Science and Technology
  • Ministry of Mirco, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME)

The intake is planned for 20 participants per workshop with one participant per incubator/ transfer center in India. One incubator/transfer center and its participant can take part in only one of the workshops- either on 27 February 2024 in New Delhi or on 29 February 2024 in Bengaluru.

Participation is competitive and will be based on applications.

Participation cost: Participation in the workshop is free. Travel and stay for the participants are not covered.
