Programme Assistant (Temporary)
The DAAD Regional Office India is looking for a motivated and qualified graduate or young professional to join our team as a Programme Assistant (Temporary) for up to 6 months. You will contribute to enhancing the visibility of DWIH New Delhi and its stakeholders by supporting organisation of its projects including events for researchers and spin-offs.
Tasks include:
- Logistical and administrative support for events (onsite and online) and projects, including coordination for event venues, hotel bookings and travel bookings.
- Support for creation and maintenance of general address lists and thematic databases.
- Assistance with the communication activities of DWIH New Delhi for specific projects, including the preparation of promotional materials, mailings, technical support for special projects.
- Support for preparation of data and statistics for monitoring reports and presentations.
- Miscellaneous tasks as required.
Requirements:
- University degree (full time and minimum Bachelor’s degree) in a relevant field (the last degree should not be older than 2025).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Very good command of English (minimum level B2).
- Good command of German (minimum level B1).
- Experience in the use of generative AI to support research, documentation, and communication.
- Proficiency in common Microsoft Office applications (Word, Powerpoint and Excel).
- Self-motivated with good organisational skills
Working conditions:
- Temporary tasks and fixed-term contract
- Full-time, in-office commitment (40 hrs per week)
- Remote work is not foreseen.

About the organisation
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is a not-for-profit organization of German higher education institutions and their student bodies financed by the German government. It awards grants and scholarships, supports the internationalisation of German universities, promotes German studies abroad and advises decision-makers on matters of education and development policy. The DAAD Regional Office New Delhi is responsible for Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
The DWIH New Delhi is a unit of the DAAD. It is a platform for exchange and networking between the Indian and German scientific communities and other stakeholders in research and innovation. It creates thematic dialogues between international stakeholders in research, politics and industry. The DWIH New Delhi provides information on the research systems of India and Germany and expertise in international cooperation for science administrators and policy makers. It is a network of 32 German research organisations, universities, funding bodies, and research-based companies.
