Programme Officer – Events
The DAAD Regional Office is looking for a motivated and qualified professional to join the DWIH New Delhi team as Programme Officer – Events. You will contribute to enhancing the visibility of DWIH New Delhi and its stakeholders by supporting organisation of events as well as its projects.
This is a full-time position (40 hrs per week)
Work profile:
- Logistical and administrative implementation of various event formats (onsite and online) and projects, as well as coordination (primarily administrative and logistical) with partner institutions and event participants.
- Preparation of data and statistics for monitoring reports and presentations.
- Creation and maintenance of general address lists and thematic databases.
- Support in accounting for all the projects and activities of the DWIH New Delhi’s work in accordance with German and Indian accounting regulations, in coordination with the Head of Programmes, DWIH New Delhi and administration of the DAAD Regional Office in New Delhi.
- Coordination with service providers for events and special project logistics, as well as promotional materials, including obtaining quotations and preparing procurement documentation.
- Support for supporter activities, including arranging travel and accommodation, collecting reports, organizing meetings, and related communication with DWIH supporters.
- Scheduling appointments, pre- and post-meeting support and travel arrangements for programme related work for Director and Head of Programmes, DWIH New Delhi
- Receiving visitors, telephone queries, and responding to general information inquiries.
- Assistance with the communication activities of DWIH New Delhi, including the preparation of promotional materials, mailings, technical support for special projects, and website maintenance.
- Miscellaneous tasks as required.
- The position supports and reports to the Head of Programmes and the Director of DWIH New Delhi.
Requirements:
- University degree (full time and minimum Bachelor’s degree) in a relevant field
- Good knowledge of the Indian and German higher education and research landscape.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Very good command of English (minimum level B2).
- Good command of German (minimum level B1).
- Experience in the use of generative AI to support research, documentation, and communication.
- Proficiency in common Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Powerpoint and Excel).
- Experience in organizing and implementing events (both online and onsite), including familiarity with digital event softwares (e.g., Webex, MS Teams), is desirable.
- Professional experience in the field of administration is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills, intercultural competence, commitment, and resilience.

Employment conditions:
- Position: Full-time (40 hours/week) with mandatory four days’ presence in the office
- Contract: Two-year fixed term with a six-month probation period. Extension of the contract or a permanent contract is possible, based on performance and subject to the availability of funds.
