Call for Proposals: Indo-German Partnerships in Higher Education (IGP) 2020-2024
The“Indo-German Partnerships in Higher Education” (IGP), a joint programme by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), is now inviting proposals with the objective to support cooperation between higher education institutions in each country.

Launch of Jülich UNified Infrastructure for Quantum computing (JUNIQ) at Jülich Supercomputing Centre
JUNIQ, the new “Jülich unified infrastructure for quantum computing”, was put into operation on 25th october 2019 at Jülich Supercomputing Centre. The go – ahead was given with the official signing of a user contract for a quantum annealer from the Canadian quantum computer manufacturer D-Wave. The research center will thus also be the first European location for the D-Wave Leap quantum cloud service.

TUM Hyperloop Wins Hyperloop Pod Competition in Los Angeles for the Fourth Time in a Row
For the fourth time in a row, the Hyperloop team of the Technical University of Munich has won the globally publicized Hyperloop competition. Their pod reached 288 miles per hour (463 km/h) – just under the world record of 290 miles per hour (467 km/h) set by the TUM team in last year’s competition.

A touring exhibition commemorating 60 years of Indo-German Development Cooperation, was opened in Kochi at Municipal Corporation Town Hall on Monday on 25th February’19 by Mr. KR Jyothilal, Principal Secretary, Transport, Govt of Kerala; Mr. APM Mohammad Hanish, MD, Kochi, Metro Rail Corp; and Dr. Christoph Kessler, Director, KfW India.
